Matt Wilson

Owner & Optical Dispenser

Dispenser

With more than 30 years’ experience in the optical industry, Matt is an experienced and qualified optical dispenser, having managed numerous optical sites across Victoria in both corporate and independent settings. In July 2019, Matt joined the long-running practice in partnership with Greg Sly, before taking over the ownership himself and the new look Bellarine Eyecare was born.

Matt’s wealth of knowledge and experience with frame fittings and lens designs is second to none, and he loves nothing more than helping a customer choose a dynamic new look that perfectly suits their face and style.

In his spare time, Matt enjoys playing cricket, going to the football and hanging around, annoying his three teenage kids!

Greg Sly

Optometrist

Greg is a dedicated and experienced optometrist, with over 35 years’ industry experience. After time working in the UK, he settled in Ocean Grove, opening the original Greg Sly Optometry in 1987. Therapeutically-endorsed,

Greg is committed to helping his patients have the best eye health possible and can treat most eye conditions and write prescriptions for treatment of a range of eye diseases.

When he’s not at work, Greg enjoys spending time with his family as well as cycling, walking, gardening and cooking.

Maria Economou

Optometrist

B.VisSci/M.Optom, Therapeutically-endorsed

Maria joined the team in 2018, having attained her Bachelor of Vision Science and Master of Optometry from Deakin University. She has a passion for eyes and eyewear and is dedicated to managing Dry Eye and associated conditions.

Maria is enthusiastic, compassionate and loves to provide great eye care to her patients, ensuring they walk away understanding more about their eyes and vision.

Away from optometry, Maria loves watching movies, playing video games and observing wildlife.

Johanna Scott

Practice Manager

Jo joined the practice over 25 years ago, and strives for excellence in every aspect of our business. Jo is passionate about ensuring all our patients receive the best care, advice and solution to any problem they may face.

Her fashion sense, impeccable taste, and excellent eye for detail make her a highly-valued and in-demand Frame Advisor. If we don’t have the frame you are looking for on our shelf, Jo will go out of her way to find it for you.

When she’s not at work, Jo loves spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening and salsa dancing.

Kate Cuddy

Reception & Frame Advisor

Kate has worked in the optical industry for 18 years and has been a valued member of the team since 2000. Kate is friendly, diligent and hardworking – making choosing frames easy with her relaxed and reassuring style.

When she’s not at work, Kate enjoys spending time with her husband and three young children, as well as outdoor activities, travel, cooking and baking. Kate is also an active member of her children’s school community.

Danna

Optical Dispenser

Danna has been working in optics since 2014, before joining the Bellarine Eyecare team in March 2022. Danna is currently studying certificate IV in Optical Dispensing and hopes to complete the course in 2023. 

When not at work Danna enjoys spending time with her Husband and 3 Teenage kids as well as Gardening, Camping, and hanging out at the Beach.
